Using Raspberry Pi OS Lite Legacy on Pi Zero 2W (Debian Bullseye, No desktop)

I'm trying to work with a pair of bluetooth headphones, working to enable the microphone and sound output (headset profile). After days of fiddling with Pulseaudio, I can see that while the A2DP_Sink profile works correctly and is shown as available through pacmd list-cards, HSP/HFP is an unavailable profile, and thus I cannot switch to it for audio input and output.

I have looked into pipewire, but am unable to figure out how to switch from pulseaudio to pipewire and utilize for my raspberry pi's audio. Would appreciate any help or guidance on how I should resolve my problems.
